Definitely two rich and interesting days of exchange, participation and discussion with the theme of pastoralism, the training of new shepherds and how this can be combined with the conservation of biodiversity. We travelled to France, to Florac, to export our project, our school, beyond our national boundaries. To discuss about the importance of shepherds for the conservation of natural habitats with those who already have experience in this field. A precious meeting between the various institutions involved in pastoralism. It was interesting, and very useful, to get to know other realities and to have the opportunity to sit around a table and discuss, propose and evaluate ideas for the future of pastoral schools and how they can increasingly interact with each other. We thank everyone for participating in this first international event and are looking forward to cooperating together to highlight the fundamental role that pastoralists play in the conservation of biodiversity and not only. Thanks to the Istitut Agro Florac who hosted the event, our partner Euromontana who organised it, thanks to all the schools that participated from Spain Association Rurbans – École de Bergers et Bergères de la Catalogne, Escuela de pastores de Andalucia, from France CFPPA des Hautes-Pyrénées, CFPPA de la Cazotte, EPLEFPA de Contamine-sur-Arve, CFPPA Ariège Comminges and Campus AgriCorsica, and all other stakeholders who participated in the event including the National Agency Of Mountain Area from Romanian, CIPRA International from Lichtenstein, Institut de l’Elevage and Cen PACA both from France, Fundación Entretantos from Spain, the Commune de Barre des Cévennes, Entente Causses et Cevennes, Parc National des Cévennes and also to David, ‘urban’ shepherd from the German lowlands in perpetual abstinence from the Alps.
