On 22nd of Febbruary 2024, took place the second European Pastoral School forum organized by LIFE ShepForBio. The event was attended by 70 representatives of pastoral schools, universities, research centers and public bodies involved in projects and activities related to pastoral formation and the promotion of pastoralism. Two themes were addressed: tools for a European governance of pastoral schools and the role that these can have in national and international projects on pastoralism.
The first session was attended by representatives of the Fundación Monte Mediterráneo, of the UNESCO Department for Ecological Awareness and Sustainable Development that illustrated two examples of platforms for the exchange and sharing of good practices in the pastoral field, developed in the Eu4Shepherds and TRANSFARM projects.
The second session was attended by representatives of the Carpathian Convention, the Support Group Europe for IYRP 2026 (International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists) and CIPRA (International Commission for the Protection of the Alps) who presented some of the projects that see them involved in international networking.
