The first meeting between European pastoral schools organised by the LIFE Shepforbio project under the supervision of Euromontana was held on 28 June.
An opportunity to compare experiences and good practices that involved as many as seven pastoral schools active in four European countries: Spain, Italy, France and Switzerland. In fact, one of the project’s objectives is to create a school for shepherds and breeders also in Tuscany, specifically in Casentino, in collaboration with the National Park of the Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona and Campigna and within the framework of the National School of Pastoralism, so as to train new realities that can then contribute with their work to maintaining and restoring mountain pasture environments. The day also saw the participation of some European projects dealing with the training of shepherds, promoted by CIPRA, PASTRES and the Institut Agro of Montpellier
